Ruby was a stray girl who gave birth to puppies in a neighbours garden. Sue and family were asked to help them.

Ruby was so nervous, but eventually the neighbour caught her, whilst Sue and family rounded up the pups. All the pups were homed to the UK, and one of the pups owners loved her pup so much she offered a home to Ruby too!

Sadly, though, when Sue came to take Ruby to the vets to have the necessary blood tests prior to travelling to the UK, Ruby became uncontrollably stressed in the car, Sue couldn’t get Ruby out of the travel box and the vet most certainly could not touch her.

It was impossible to imagine Ruby making the trip to the UK – she would not be able to cope with it and the vet agreed that she would be unlikely to survive the journey with that level of stress.

So Ruby has her home with Sue, and she will live out her days nervous but happy! Ruby plays the auntie role to a lot of the pups, keeps them in their place and teaches them well. Ruby is still nervous and mainly stays away from any visitors, only letting Sue touch her. Occasionally a visitor can touch her if they sit with her long enough and don’t look at her!
