A Message From Dougal

Woof! My name is Dougal, and I’m here to tell you a little bit about myself—straight from the dog's mouth!

I’m currently Adopted and enjoying life in my new home but I’ve got friends who would love to meet you!

Paws and tail wags,
Dougal

My Story

Dougal is a gorgeous 2 year old lad who needs a new home as his owner finds herself having to work full-time and knows it is not fair on Dougal to be left all day.
He is a small/medium chap at around 11-12kg, 48cm to his shoulder, he looks to be Spaniel/Collie mix. Due to this, he needs lots of physical and mental stimulation and exercise.

His owner says….He is a loving boy who enjoys attention and cuddles, he simply enjoys being made a fuss of. He is great out and about, he loves meeting strangers and other dogs. He has a box of toys, which he likes to pick one out and carry it around. He will take slippers or shoes and hide them in his crate or in garden. He likes chew sticks – Nylabones are his favourite and Kong toys. He enjoys being groomed!

The only areas that need further training are that he pulls on the lead, but that is because he is so keen for a walk (this has improved with a harness) and he may jump up at people in his excitement at meeting new friends! He does have recall but at times this is in his own time due to all the lovely smells around! He has chased sheep, only to round them up! therefore, he needs to be on lead if there is a possibility of meeting them.

Dougal is crate trained and enjoys going to his space with a treat. He is great in the car.

Because he is an adult and used to being left alone, his new home can have someone who works part time or perhaps someone who works outside where he can go too. The main thing is that his new owner will have lots of love and time to give him to carry on with his training and meet his exercise needs, we think he would enjoy agility training.

Dougal currently lives with a female companion dog but does not necessarily need one in his new home. He has not lived with cats so NO CATS please. He interacts well with visiting grandchildren but children over 10 please as he is an adult dog.

His prospective adopters would be expected to travel to SOMERSET to meet him.

Dougal is up to date with his vaccinations and is Neutered.
